Some accounts of his life and exploits
| The Cup And The Quest
A full biography of Tudor Pole could occupy hundreds of pages and several volumes, so the best way to start might be to select a few exploits and place them in a slimmed-down volume. |

This is what I tried in 2006 with TP's Grail: The True Story of the Cup and the Quest. However, despite the public appetite for dubious grails (Holy Blood, Holy Grail) and bogus quests (Da Vinci Code) there seemed no commercial appetite for the real thing. So the book remains unfinished. The first three chapters are included in this site, and more exist in draft form, awaiting coincidences of opportunity and energy on my part. The Two Worlds Of Wellesley Tudor Pole The main research took place a few years earlier, 1999-2003, resulting in a more exhaustive book. The Two Worlds of Wellesley Tudor Pole gave a rounded picture of the man, his family, his work and his exploits at various stages of his life. |

Because the material was so fascinating and extensive, it could not all be contained in one volume, so I drew a line at 1931 (about halfway through his life) and determined to tackle the rest at a later date. David Bolt, the literary agent (since retired) took up the book, though without success. The reason, perhaps, was the circular one that people may not wish to read about someone they have not previously read about. Extracts from two chapters are included in this site.
